Leaves That Shape Our Lives

The cool fall winds
Dance with trees,
As they bring falling leaves—
Yellow, gold, red, and brown—
Fall as they feed the ground.

Lost connections,
Gained directions.
We float on leaves,
Coming and going
In rain and sun,
Leaving memories as payment for our sun.

They touch us,
Bettering,
Nourishing,
As we float by.

Some stay,
Some leave,
But all shape our eyes.

Touches
Of difference,
Of joy and pain
All birth tomorrow’s frame.
